To celebrate it’s tenth edition, Pop-Up Contemporary will include artists from Denmark, Sweden and Finland.

The works in this exhibition embrace the very nature of what is ’man-made’ by playfully repurposing existing materials, resources, even capturing the immaterial. Through diverse practices, they reflect on how materials can be re-appropriated, take on parallel existences, or be in dialogue with each other.
På denne udstilling omfavner værkerne selve ideen om det der er “menneskeskabt” ved i fri ånd enten at skabe nyt eller genbruge eksisterende materialer og ressourser, eller endda indfange det immaterielle. Gennem kunstnernes forskellige praksiser reflekteres der over hvordan materialer kan gen-udnyttes, antage parallelle betydningslag eller være i dialog med hinanden.

About Guest Curator, Claire Gould (1973, UK/FI).
For the last two decades years Claire has been working and studying in Germany and Finland working at the British Council, Helsinki, Hamburger Bahnhof/Museum der Gegenwart, Berlin, CHART art fair, Copenhagen. Since 2005 she has been a Curator at Helsinki Art Museum (HAM), curating group and solo exhibitions of Finnish and international artists including Ulla Jokisalo, Ola Kolehmainen, Taryn Simon, Yayoi Kusama and Gilbert & George. From October 2019, Claire is taking a year’s sabbatical from HAM and working as a volunteer in several initiatives and as a freelance curator for contemporary art projects and exhibitions.
